The Church of San Francesco d’Assisi to the Immaculate stands on top of an impressive staircase, to the right of the course. The church was planned by the architects Vincenzo Sinatra and Rosario Gagliardi and it was built between 1704 and 1745. The church with the adjoining convent is one of the most impressive religious buildings in Noto. It has a beautiful entrance portal over which a niche and a gable partly arched hang. At the sides of this gable you can admire two richly decorated pillars and two fine ornated niches. Inside there is only one aisle. To the right of the church façade there is an elevated square where you can see the statue of the Madonna which was originally placed at the centre of the road.
